GERMAN CINEMA TODAY: NEW VOICES

19 June 2024 - 23 February 2025
DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum

A special exhibition on the multi-faceted, diverse and culturally diverse filmmaking in Germany since the turn of the millennium will be presented by the DFF from June 2024 onwards, taking a variety of new looks at German cinema and German film from 2000 to the 2020s. The focus is on the questions of what constitutes film in Germany today, which topics it brings into the public eye and which actors speak in and with film. In addition, the exhibition asks what current film in the digital era and (post-)migrant society says about identity, culture and life in Germany today. Selected artistic works and filmmakers are brought into focus by means of exhibits from the collections of the DFF as well as numerous objects provided by the artists themselves.
