Archäologisches Museum Frankfurt preserves, researches and communicates the history of the City of Frankfurt from the Paleolithic period to the early Modern era.
The substantial finds related to regional and city history stem from archaeological excavations in the Roman city of NIDA, in Frankfurt’s historic city centre, and in the former Jewish ghetto on Börneplatz. The exhibits are part of our cultural identity in a changing world and allow visitors to experience long-lost cultures.
The Franconofurd Imperial Palace offers a window onto the city’s origins: a Roman bath, the walls of the Royal Court of the Carolingians, late Mediaeval cellars – explore traces of around 2,000 years of city history!
