DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum

DFF – Deutsches Filminstitut & Filmmuseum is home to not only a museum, but also a cinema, archives and collections, festivals, digital platforms, research and digitization projects as well as numerous educational programs, all of them uniquely brought together under a single roof.

The permanent exhibition offers exciting exhibits, hands-on models of historical gadgets, and interactive stations. Changing special exhibitions encourage visitors to explore the moving image and delve into the fascinating world of the medium of film.

Eating chocolates on a bench next to Forrest Gump? Or flying across Frankfurt on a magic carpet? It’s all possible at the weekend in the open film studio on the 4th floor of the DFF!

The DFF cinema is the heart of the house. Here, up to 131 visitors immerse themselves most directly into film culture from all decades and in all formats. Thrilling, staggering, touching: cinema as a sensual experience with modern projection technology.
