What will stages look like in the future? Which shapes can these central places of collective cultural encounter take? What will opera houses and theatres have to offer as places of public life in the future? The exhibition “ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE?” posed these questions back in 2018. Since then, intensive, often controversial discussions have continued in Frankfurt and other cities about renovations or new-builds of these cultural buildings of great importance to urban society.“
ALL THE WORLD’S A STAGE, REVISITED” ” picks up the thread again, compares developments in different cities and also presents two current best-practice examples. The exhibition also looks at where the opera as well as the theatre in Frankfurt am Main could be located.
