Featuring photographs from the 1950s to the present day this exhibition is the first to offer a new perspective on Japanese photography with a focus on Japanese women photographers and presenting female perspectives on everyday life in Japan and Japanese society. On view are works by more than twenty artists from different generations, including Yanagi Miwa, Ninagawa Mika, Isiuchi Miyako, Hiromix, Narahashi Asako and Katayama Mari. Their work is characterised by a high degree of creativity and experimentation and is rarely seen outside Japan.
